The Hoku
2012
Where It Started
Our story began in 2012 when Ryan Shibuya opened our doors in Punavuori with just 6 tables and 20 seats. While we've grown since then, our roots remain the same. Signatures like our Salmon Teriyaki, Kara-age, and Bi Bim Bap have been proudly served since day one.
2016
Midsummer 2016 brought an unexpected challenge when a fire broke out during renovations. Thankfully, the restaurant was closed and our team was safe.

2016
A New Chapter in Kamppi
Out of the ashes came a new opportunity. In December 2016, we moved into our current home on the 5th floor of Kampin kauppakeskus. Since then, we've grown into a beloved Asian fusion and Japanese restaurant, known for serving the best lunch and dinner in downtown Helsinki.
